The Time is coming Closer!

Tomorrow is the big day, 8.40am! I cannot believe Carly who it only seems like Yesterday she was born. It has really hit home for me today. I did not think I would cry, until my Neighbour came to wish Carly luck. I don't know what happened, but panic struck! I just could not think of anything else but my baby going to school and just really worried that she was OK. Who would look out for her? But my neighbour did earn up convincing me that she would have a Buddy! So I hope that was the 1st and last bit of panicking I do. She is so great she even knows what a softy Bruno is and offered to take Carly for us, so as she would not have to face her upset parents. but I have spoken to Bruno tonight that under no circumstances is Carly allowed to see either of us upset. So I won't hold my breathe. However Carly is absolutely looking it all and so excited, and playing if for all it is worth, by explaining to me tonight that she had to sleep with me because she will miss me tomorrow and won't know when to get up! So she is asleep in my bed!
Today I also realised how much of a bad cook I am. I mean it definitely is not my favourite pastime or need I say anything I am really good at. But today we had to make Play dough for Carly to take to school with her. So I read the recipe that the school gave me. Made it exactly how it said. Can you believe it was so lumpy, but also runny. Do not know what I did wrong. So tried another batch, stuck to the saucepan. No good, so I rang my neighbour and she had to come and make it for me. I have no idea what so ever what I did wrong! So this then made me feel a bit better about my cooking and I thought to myself "well atleast this does not happen with dinner everynight"!
Will have some sneak peaks up tomorrow.

The Countdown Begins

Only 2 more sleeps until Carly starts school and she is just so excited (I am very anxious). Poor Maddy, who is also starting 3 year Old Kinder on Friday doesn't understand why she has not got new pencils and books, and wants to know where her uniform is!
Today we labelled Casrly's books and pencils, I really had to keep an eye on Maddy, I caught her on several occasions trying to get into Carly's Crayons and try to draw pictures for her. Poor thing, but her time will come soon enough, probably a little too quick for my liking though!..LOL.

We have now officially sold our Campervan and bought an On-Site Van at Lake Eildon, which desperately needs work. We actually had no intention of doing this at all, until we went to see my Brother-in law who has one and next minute I know, we are looking at ones that are for sale.
It needs a lot of work but the position is great. We are 2 sites up from Mario and one of my neighbours is his Sister-in law and the other neighbour is her Brother-in law. All a bit confusing hey! and could probably sound very scary for some.

I am currently editing the pictures for our Sneak Peaks, this will start appearing up on the site and here on Thursday. We also have some great subscription offers for the month of February.
Will update you more soon.

January Page Layout Tips and Ideas

January Page Layout Tips and Ideas are now up on the Website. Click Here to view these.

I have just gotten back from a lovely weekend at my parents. They live on an Island on the Gippsland Lakes, which is about a 3 and a 1/2 hour drive, you go to Paynesville and then you have to catch the Ferry across. It was so relaxing and really nice to spend some quality time with my parents.
We left on Friday, but before we left we had a party to go to, so I packed up the car and had everything ready. The party finished at 5.30, so I was a little bit worried about leaving late because I did not want to drive the back roads in the dark. So just as we are about to leave, Carly and Maddy start begging me if their friend Charlotte, who is a whole 5 years of age can come. My instant reaction was NO. They looked so sad, not to mention the look on Charlotte's face. But me being selfish was thinking, how could I have another 5 year old to look after and what if we got there and she wanted to go home? So I strapped the girls in the car and was just saying Goodbye to my dearest friend George ( Charlotte's mummy) when I felt this gust of guilt and thought to myself, hey it is not all about me, so before I know it I've asked if she could come! Well, they where so excited, George rang her DH to check he had no plains for Charlotte for the weekend ( not that I think this would have made any difference because they had now all jumped into my car) Anyway he was cool with this. So off I went with a 3 year Old and 2, 5 year Olds. As I got on the Freeway, I though Gee I can be absolutely mad sometimes, And kept thinking of all the what if's and could only see myself having to return the next day. I tell you what the car ride itself was interesting, there was no way possible I could have fallen asleep at the wheel with all the laughter they had. We got there safely at 10pm. That night the girls did not go to sleep until Midnight and as I lay awake I kept thinking of the 3 tired girls I would have tomorrow.
But they all slept well until about 2 am. I had decided I would sleep in the room with Charlotte just in case she woke up. But Carly and Maddy thought they might be missing out on something and both decided they wanted to better Charlotte and sleep in the same bed with me! Was a very cozy sleep.
The next day they where fine, to mine and my mothers surprise. Dad took them out to see the Koala's and Kangaroos and to feed the ducks and then we went to my Brother's for lunch. They didn't fight they all played so well. I kept thinking when is this going to end and poor Charlotte will want to go home.
The next day Dad took us out on his boat, they loved to watch the Jelly Fish and all the other fish swimming around. Then out for lunch and then back home again for a swim. So by now you would think that poor Charlotte who has only just turned 5 would be so tired and want to desperately go home. No, she said when I asked if she wanted to go home, so I explained that we would have to go home the next.
So this morning I get up and get Charlotte ready, because Carly and Maddy are staying an extra day to have some quality time with the Grandparents before school. Poor Charlotte was devastated she wanted to stay! She told me she did not want to leave her Nan and Pop's (she had adopted us).
I can't believe how well behaved and brave she was! She never asked for her Mummy or Daddy and never cried. The only time she asked to go home was when she had a tiff with Carly about a doll!
So now I feel good. I am so glad I changed my mind. But poor Mum and Dad I have left hem with 2 very tired girls, because Charlotte slept a good length of the trip home!
I will post some pics of the weekend up tomorrow when I download them.

School Shoes

Today I faced the task of taking Carly to buy her first pair of School shoes. I had feelings of sadness and excitement for her, I can't believe how quickly the last 5 years have gone. It just seems like last week she was rolling over for the first time.
Of we went to Knox City Shopping centre, my whole idea was to go alone with just Carly, because Bruno had the day off and Maddy could stay at home with him. As we were about to leave Carly asked if Maddy could come. Well that mad it even a bigger job. Maddy was very grumpy. So off the 3 of us went. Carly has a wide foot, it was so hard to get a pair that had velcro across the top, so she could do them up herself and with a wide fitting. Firstly we went to Williams where they suggested that I buy her a size bigger, size 12 and put inner soles in her shoes, but I couldn't do that because it made her feet look bigger. So we then went to Myer and they had the perfect ones, but by this time Maddy kept screaming that she wanted her school shoes and kept trying to put them on her feet! When I explained that she did not need them yet, she threw everything in site! She was that bad everyone kept looking at us and I kept trying to pretend she was not with us. She was that bad that the lady serving us commented that she could not believe how calm I was! I thought well welcome to my world!
I cannot believe how old Carly looked in her new shoes. She was so excited she had to wear them home!
Now I have to do the enduring task of labeling everything. But how on earth are you suppose to label School shoes?
Well I have 2 and a1/2 weeks.
Tomorrow is suppose to be 35 here so I think I will take the girls to the pool.
I am busy tonight getting the kits ready to be sent out.

Now of to take the girls for a swim. It is really hot here and suppose to be even hotter tomorrow. I think the biggest problem with Melbourne weather is that beacuse it changes so much it is really hard to cope with really hot weather.

Sneak Peaks!

Our Sneak Peaks for January's kit are up on our Website. The theme for January is Summer. Here are some pics. If you would like to see more click here.
I cannot believe I was in Kmart today and saw all the back to School items and this is probably the first time it really hit me that Carly my first child is starting school. It brought a tear to my eye. Maddy is also going to start 3 year old kinder. I will be so lost! Just have to practice holding back the tears. Actually I better get my DH Bruno to start considering he had a few tears on Carly's first day of kinder. But how nice is that for him to really show it.
It has actually made me realise that I really need to make the most of this time. Some days I feel like I am constantly on the go and the poor girls are just pushed to the side, I think I will try to take them for a picnic on Friday.
Tomorrow is Bruno's birthday, 46 years old, so the girls and I will have a little party for him tomorrow night. I was going to cook his favourite, Rack of Lamb, but it is going to be 35 degrees here, so I think I will ditch that plan. Ice Cream cake sounds really good!
Anyway I hope you are all enjoying the competition!

Ok! Sorry for the delay but yesterdays winner was Megan Thompson! Congratulations, you will be receiving a Sissey Goodie bag shortly! For those I the answer was Michelle Staffieri, Pip Prosser, Jodie Jackson and Marianne Pollock. Although if the first answer I had received had only Pip Prosser, Jodie Jackson and Marianne Pollock this still would have been fine. Ok now for today's question;

What is the postage cost on a Must have it All Collection?

Answer this question by either placing a comment on our blog or by email info@sissey.com.au.

Happy New Year

I have finally crawled out of bed after a late night. We spent New Years Eve with my Brother-in-law and friends. Carly decided she would go in and watch TV and Virtually fell asleep straight away, that was around 11pm. But Maddy being the 3 year old party animal lasted well into Midnight and ran around to wish everybody a Happy New Year! Hope none of you have a sore head today!

Our first question for our 7 day welcome in the New Year is;

What are the names of the members of our Design Team?

Be the first to answer this by either posting it as a comment here or by emailing info@sissey.com.au
