Our 1st Fishing Trip

Bruno was working this weekend, so I decided to take Carly to Eildon ( Maddy was already there with Bruno, because she wants her other home to disappear). I headed up Friday afternoon and Bruno came back once I got there. The weather was nice, but it was that in between weather, when it is quite nice, but not hot enough to swim, but a waste to do nothing. So I had this great Idea to take the girls to visit the fish at the nearby trout farm. I had never actually been to a trout farm before and actually thought it was a bit like a fish zoo, where we could go feed and just watch. When we paid to get in the guy asked "So how many rods do you want." Here I am thinking, oh! okay Michelle just go along with it, I reply "Just 2". Then he says "I will just get you some bait", well this has struck an alarm bell, and straight out I have said, "Um, if it is worms please don't, I just can't do that", he replies, "Don't worry it is like a putty you roll up and put on the hook", I go "Oh Ok"!, Then he explains the different areas to fish and tells me that at the BBQ area we are more likely to catch something, but if we are really stuck we can go to the area called the desperado area, where we are guaranteed to catch something. But I am just trying to be polite, I don't really want to tell him that I don't care to catch a fish and all we want is to see them and maybe feed them, but I have actually realised at this point that this is one way they actually make money, by selling us the fish we catch. So I then politely ask, if it is possible for the girls to feed some fish and if they can see them anywhere. So he hands us a bucket of pallets and tells us to feed them at the desperado pond. Of we go straight to the desperado pond ( not thinking that we don't want to feed them yet, because we might need to catch one later) we feed them the whole bucket and then of we went to the BBQ area. I got both rods ready and we had a little fish ( can't believe that I remember from those few times Dad used to take me when I was about 5) But the bait came off too quickly and we soon got sick of this, so I decided that we would go fish in the desperado pond. Back we went and set up our rods again. But we still got no fish, they kept swimming past our bait, then the guy explained to me that it was quite possible that they where no longer hungry because we had already fed them and suggested that we use a net. A net, well we could not even do this right and he had to even help us with this. He caught 2 and then we went inside and he was cleaning them up, I was really trying to be quite brave about all this in front of the girls. So just as I was about to pay and put it all behind me I see this thing just jump down , it was a Huntsman spider. Now this is probably my biggest fear factor. I was really trying not to go into panic overdrive, but he could see the look on my face and tells me not to worry they constantly jump down from the ceiling. At this point I look up to see about 10 of them there, well this was it for me, I told him I have such a fear and would have to wait outside for him to bring the fish to me, as I am running, he says, oh that's nothing I found a snake out there today! So that was my true adventure, don't know if I will be hurrying back there again! But the girls were so excited, that they had 2 fishies and want to go back again. I don't really think I could handle the spiders more than anything. But I hope you enjoy these pictures.

I cannot believe the weather tonight. I have come up to Eildon to pick Maddy up ( Here's thanks to wireless Broadband!) We went to the pool this afternoon and then the weather did a big change, it was even hailing, I wish I had my camera connection here do as I could share with you how the lake looked when the hail hit it. Will upload this as soon as possible. After the hail ended Carly and Maddy thought it would be fun to jump in the puddles. I could not stop laughing, they both fell over and where covered in mud!

Feeling on Top of Things!

I have spent all day packing kits, and it was really warm here today so, got to do a bit of a workout. I needed them finished by 3 so as I could take them to the Post Office whilst Carly was at dancing. But thankfully for a very few times it does happen, everything went according to plan and they where all packed and posted. So you can now start to stalk your postie.
Bruno has gone to Eildon to do some more work as he has the whole week off work, and to my surprise he took Maddy with him. So I guess I just achieved the ordinary when you don't have a 3 year old at your feet! He rang tonight and all she has done all day is ask him when she was going horse riding. I bet he gives into her and takes her in the morning. Doesn't help the fact that I reminded her about it tonight on the phone. Ha! but it is nice knowing that he can have some quality time with her and face the realities of my life!
Carly and I have also had some quality time, we had a picnic for dinner in the backyard and then ate Ice creams on the Trampoline. I must say it was such a nice time, we lay and looked up at the sky. I can't believe how much she is growing up.

How Time Flies

I can't believe how quickly this month is going. Happy Valentines Day to everyone. Hope you had a nice day. When we got up and went downstairs, Bruno had left me a bunch of flowers and a card. The girls wanted to know what the occasion was, so I explained, which then led them to this great ( or not) idea that we should have a party that nice. But we had such a busy day ahead, Carly needed to go do her Prep testing, I had a Physio appointment, Maddy had an appointment with the Speech Therapist and we had groceries to do! So off we went to get it all done, and me not ever wanting to disappoint the girls found myself late yesterday afternoon at the party shop to get balloons and decorations for the table. This is what we came up with. Bruno was quite pleased when he got home because we had also baked a cake and cooked his Rack of Lamb. That was a big effort in itself, because I absolutely hate cooking, especially when 2 little girls don't eat it! But to my surprise they did. So I was a very happy Mummy. All cards are being charged today and a busy weekend planned to pack the kits. March kits have now been sent out to the design team, nice and bright and funky! Now need to look ahead at April, yes April!
Anyway, hope you have a great Day.

Just had to Share

This weekend we went of Eildon, and I must say I had such a nice time with the girls. poor Bruno didn't get to do much except work, but I must say it is starting to look a lot better.

So Today some other friends who also have a cabin near us asked the girls and i to go horse riding. I just said yeah, thinking it would just be a spectating event. But when we got there the girls straight away put on their helmets. Carly was all for having a ride, but Maddy insisted she would just watch. So we tried to get Carly on a horse, but fear overcome the poor girl and she had to get off. then Maddy said that she would like to sit on Banjo ( the horses name) but insisted him not to walk. So up she sat, then I thought I think she could have a little ride, so I told her we just had to move to the side, well she was fine, she loved the little walk and then asked for more! So I lead her around the park. She was so happy and I was so proud of her, only 3 and a half. She did not want to get off. She is so good.
Have a great day.

1st Day of School

Well, she is now officially a School Girl! What reality I have faced to no more laying in bed cuddling the girls and watching ABC kids, well maybe sometimes! and the rush and the parking!
Carly was amazing, she slept in my bed the night and I held her hand all night. When I woke her up she couldn't wait to get her uniform on. But breakfast she wouldn't eat, well no surprise she never wants to eat it! don't know what to do about this, I just hope she realises she needs it to go to school.
Carly shed no tears, I had a few but Bruno the most! Poor thing he had top leave the classroom because he was too emotional and couldn't even give her a kiss goodbye! Poor Maddy has been lost all day and can't wait for her to come home! I have been a bit teary all day, but then I received this lovely email from my sweet friend Sarah, and I just have to share the poem. Sorry if it brings on the tears.
Here it is;
I Trust You'll Treat Her Well Author: Victor Buono Dear World: I bequeath to you today one little girl...in a crispy dress...with two brown eyes...and a happy laugh that ripples all day long.. and a flash of light brown hair that bounces in the sun when she runs. I trust you'll treat her well. She's slipping out of the backyard of my heart this morning...and skipping off down the street to her first day of school. And never again will she be completely mine. Prim and proud she'll wave her young and independent hand this morning and say "Goodbye" and walk with little lady steps to the schoolhouse. Now she'll learn to stand in lines...and wait by the alphabet for her name to be called. She'll learn to tune her ears for the sounds of school-bells...and deadlines...and she'll learn to giggle...and gossip...and look at the ceiling in a disinterested way when the little boy 'cross the aisle sticks out his tongue at her. And now she'll learn to be jealous. And now she'll learn how it is to feel hurt inside. And now she'll learn how not to cry. No longer will she have time to sit on the front porch on a summer day and watch an ant scurry across the crack in the sidewalk. Nor will she have time to pop out of bed with the dawn and kiss lilac blooms in the morning dew. No, now she'll worry about those important things...like grades and which dress to wear and whose best friends is whose. And the magic of books and learning will replace the magic of her blocks and dolls. And now she'll find new heroes. For five full years now I've been her sage and Santa Claus and pal and playmate and mother and friend. Now she'll learn to share her worship with her teachers ...which is only right. But no longer will I be the smartest woman in the whole world. Today when that school bell rings for the first time...she'll learn what it means to be a member of the group...with all its privileges and its disadvantages too. She'll learn in time that proper young ladies do not laugh out loud...or kiss dogs...or keep frogs in pickle jars in bedrooms...or even watch ants scurry across cracks in sidewalks in the summer. Today she'll learn for the first time that all who smile at her are not her friends. And I'll stand on the front porch and watch her start out on the long, lonely journey to becoming a woman. So, world, I bequeath to you today one little girl...in a crispy dress...with two brown eyes...and a flash of light brown hair that bounces in the sunlight when she runs. I trust you'll treat her well.
Sneak Peaks are now up on site. Click here to view them.
Have a Nice Day.
